Reigning all Australian full back Alex Rance has developed a daunting reputation, tormenting experienced forwards across the league. Never giving his opponents an inch, Rance has shut downs the likes of Buddy Franklin, consistently marshalling the Richmond backline, earning the respect and admiration of team mates and rivals alike.
Alex Rance was recruited by Richmond in the 2007 draft at pick 18, making his depute in 2009. A head clash in round 7 with Troy Selwood left Rance with three cheekbone fractures but valiantly bounced back cementing his spot in the Richmond squad. Developing his play over the years Rance has become a reliable performer earning himself the award for Richmond’s best and fair 2015. Much to the delight of fans, Rance re-signed with Richmond until 2019.
