Western Bulldogs 2016 AFL Premiership Merchandise – Celebrate an End to the Drought!

After a 62 year drought, the Bulldogs pulled off a stunning premiership win against the Sydney Swans. Winning by 22 points, this most unlikely finals run of all time is an historic event that cannot and should not be forgotten. The thrilling final quarter, where twice Longmire’s men closed within a point, will not long be forgotten. Joining Charlie Sutton’s 1954 team in immortality, Luke Beveridge’s team kicked the three final goals in Saturday’s game to triumph over the Swans.

In an historical twist, none of the Bulldog’s 22 man team had ever played in a Grand Final before, with Liam Picken and Tom Boyd kicking the last triumphant goals for the winning side. Jason Johannisen, former rookie, was also voted most popular for the Norm Smith Medal as best player on the ground. Clearly the Bulldogs did not let their inexperience get in the way of an epic Grand Final.

This is only the third time the Bulldogs have ever contested the Grand Final in the club’s 91 year history. The Western Bulldogs victory completed a fairy tale finals series that included victories against West Coast and Greater Western Sydney, as well as a brilliant semi-final win over reigning premier Hawthorn.
